Understanding Effective Prospecting!

Writing this article is designed to help you understand effective prospecting techniques, and assist you over the hurdles & challenges to move you forward to YOUR personal goals.

The world of marketing, whether it is MLM, direct sales marketing, commission sales, or even management positions in a J.O.B. (just over broke job), you need to understand these psychological techniques. Think of the following article like putting on a suit of armor, to protect you.

Rule #1… Understand that Prospecting is a numbers game, pure and simple. No matter what you use as a business building tool, online and off, you will eventually find your team members, but always remember that massive action over time will give you massive results. Also, the more activity you put into your business, the better you will get at running your business, and increasing your conversion rate of sales and sign ups.

Rule #2… To become a “Recruiting Machine”, you need to start with yourself. How you treat yourself, and how you talk to yourself, determines your attitude. Surround yourself with positives… Reading daily from positive, or motivational books. Turn off CNN. Start to look at meditative techniques, or even treat yourself to a spa treatment. Do whatever it takes to “love” yourself. It isn’t selfish in the least. You will attract onto you, prospects and team members, who resonate with your vibe.

Rule #3… Confidence will create “Posture”. Become confident with yourself, and your message, and you will start to communicate more effectively. It will come across naturally. Posture does not mean to become nasty, pushy, or abrasive. That is bullying. Posture, is being self assured, despite lack of results, or not “being there yet”. Posture is the development of who you are when you become who you want to be. If you start to portray to the world that you are successful, you will believe you are successful, then you are successful. The mind is a beautiful thing. It only knows what it is told.

Posture also means that you are VERY serious about your business. Your prospects will know you are serious, and you will become the leader to them. Posture leaves no room for failure. There is no other option then, but to succeed. New team members need you to be the leader, mentor, trainer. Prospect with posture, and you will succeed in attracting team members that will also succeed.

Rule #4… Never prospect to fill your needs. Reapeat.. Never prospect to fill YOUR needs! This is the key to business success. It is in helping others that you will in turn be rewarded. “Paying It Forward”, you will find is the way that the most successful business people succeed in creating long term strength and residual income. If you go into this business thinking that short term work without the desire to make a true difference in the lives of your team members, will make you long term results. You will be sadly mistaken as it will only give you short term results. Networking, in whatever form you call it is really relationship marketing. Your business is only as good as the strength of the relationships therein. Remember, your opportunity has the capability of changing lives, and so you need to look at speaking with others that “You’ve got the goods they need”. In sharing those “goods” you are giving them an pportunity to change their life. Whether they choose, or don’t choose to accept what you offer, it is their choice. Whether they accept an opportunity to change, or not change based on their needs, not yours!

Rule #5… Never chase your prospect. Chasing your prospect shows weakness on your part. If you do get a prospect to join based on being chased, then you will always chase this person, i.e. to attend conference calls, to follow up with prospects etc. It creates a very weak, and is definitely not duplicatable. Let this into your business and it will fall apart. Always remember that you can help thousands, but you cannot carry one! Duplication is the key.

Rule #6… Building your empire is not a race. It takes time, consistency, and continuous and never ending activity. If you are part time in this business it may take longer than someone who is in it full time. However, remember that our compensation plan is dynamite. There isn’t another one in the entire marketing world that pays so well, and to infinity, and if it takes you 2 years of hard work to reach your goal of sustainable ongoing residual income, then so be it! It will be the best two years of effort you ever put into anything. The key to this rule, is NEVER quit yourself on this. Be patient, but keep building. Always remember the fable about the tortoise and the hare.

Rule #7… Be a student! No matter what you bring to the plate, there is always more to learn. Be open and flexible in your thinking. Being confident in yourself gives you the maturity to be open as well.

Rule #8… Be a good listener. Recruiting and prospecting does not require selling, coercing or bullying. Listening allows you to understand the prospect better. Listening allows you to take notes. Understanding your prospect allows you to take charge of the interview. Remember you have two ears, and only one mouth and use them in that ratio.

Rule #9… Do not take “No’s” personally. Recruiting is definitely a numbers game. Every “No” gets you closer to a “Yes”. We simply are in the business of collecting those decisions. There are systems available now that make the sorting process easier than simply cold calling bought leads. However, calling prospects is still important in the process. In the beginning the conversion rate will be low. You will need to speak to a lot more people before you find the ones to join your team. Think of this as your training time, and you will definitely have on the job training. In time the conversion rate will increase and the “Yes’s” will start to come easier, and more frequently.

Rule #10.. We get paid based on productive activity, not being busy. It is easy to get caught up on organizing our office, or finding a 100 ways to not pick up the phone, but that will not get you closer to your goals. I run my office on a tiny desk which is piled high and very messy, but I know exactly where everything is. I know a multi millionaire in his 20’s who started his empire in his bedroom in his boxer shorts eating rice and ketchup. Be constant, persistent, and busy with business building activity, and you will get the results. Nothing builds confidence than results. Fear causes people to hide behind non business activity. Needless to say, there are things that just need to be done out of necessity, as long as it does not become the predominant activity of your business.

Rule #11.. Don’t allow politics and gossip to interfere in your business. As your team grows and grows, you will have people calling you and complaining in regards to upline and downline etc. These are non productive and simply unhealthy and will erode the strength of your business. Always confront issues head on and diffuse it. Never let issues smolder. Deal and get back on track, to productivity and results.

By loving yourself, and therefore loving the vision you have for your life, you will attract all that you need to make that happen. Get excited. Dream big dreams, and never, NEVER sell yourself short on what you want. Dreams will fuel you and spur you onto success in whatever form that means to you. Get excited. Do YOUR happy dance, and never never never stop!

In getting excited with yourself, you create a natural vibration which will eminate from you and resonate into the universe. What you focus on expands!! Never doubt the Law of Attraction. Once you start to change the internal programming in your mind, and the external vibration of energy, you will never, never, want to go back to the old you. Trust me on this one.

The next step in the process is to trust that all is taken care of and then Let It Go. Now that we have established that we are truly "the master of our own desity", what do we do to change the course we thought was pre-ordained? The first thing is know what you truly want out of life. In other words "Get Clear", and know that it can be another way for you.

Having established that you want to be an online marketer/home based business owner, is a start. However, all the webpages in the world, and fantastic marketing plans will not make a difference unless, you decide to be the difference. That's right. The saying, "If It's Meant To Be, Then It is UP TO ME", is very true. Let's start to work on your success.

Step One, be CLEAR... Announce who you are and what you want to the world! By that I don't mean you climp a mountain and yell from its peak. There are several techniques here to help you.
* Make a list, and divide it into two columns. On side A, write down who you really are, the
real you, that wants to break out of the shell of your current existance. You will be amazed
how difficult this may be to start, but how good it will feel when you are done. Column B,
write down what it is that you really want out of life, and what that would feel like to you to
have. You can post this list where you will see it. Make copies of it and post them
everywhere you frequent during your day. -Or- you can make it private, and fold that
piece of paper and put it in your pocket. Whenever you touch that piece of paper, you will
be remined of what is on it, and it will remind you when you touch it. Just don't forget to
keep that piece of paper, and move it with your changes of clothing so as you don't lose it.
* Make a visualization board. There are two things you can do here. You could get a bristol
board and paste picture representations of what you want, or if you have the exact photo,
then paste it on. -Or- you can create a timeline and paste or write on it when you want a
particular event, or authentic truth to occur. Making these things visual, makes them real.
The mind only knows what "We" tell it. So telling it what we really want over and over
makes it real in the mind, and then we automatically put this into motion. When we really
start to believe this, the work to make it happen naturally occurs. Not only that, but the path
to make it happen will shift, and you will find that events unfold in a manner to make your
core desire happen. We call this synconicity, but it isn't. It's manifestation at work.

Now I need to help you in understanding that it is one thing to write these authentic truths down, but it is important that how we do this and the language we use are also key ingredients.

From prior conditioning, we may have the tendency to say things like, "I don't want to be broke anymore," or "I don't want to be sick anymore". These are negative statements, they contain words that if you speak these will attract to you more financial stress, or illness. You need to change these to positive statements as the law of attraction will bring them to you, i.e. "I want abundant wealth", or "I want abundant health, and prosperity". Just reading these negative and positive statements bring with them a certain feel of energy. Say them, and feel how make you feel. Right away you can see what power they have.

Congratulations! You are on your way to manifesting abundant miracles in your life!

Now, I suggest you get to work on what was mentioned here. Be excited, the best of life is yet to be. You are a winner! Winners never quit, and quitters never win. Be ready for the next post.

That true YOU is divinely created, with intuition and love. The "secret" is in unlocking that part which is hidden in the day to day mundanity, and allowing it to manifest in the world its true meaning & purpose.

There are 6 natural laws which are universal and are at work whether or not you believe they exist, or acknowledge them. Yet, when they are pointed out, we can say, yes that is the way it goes, or we call them "Murphy's Law", or other such colloquial things. There is nothing accidental or coincidential about what happens in our lives. What we think is what we manifest in our life.

Understanding that one truth is key in allowing change to happen in our lives.

Have you ever known anyone who seems to be "stuck". By stuck, I mean, the same types of events seem to keep occuring in their life. Something like Eyore, from Whinnie The Pooh. Yeah, sure we do. Maybe it is ourself! Would like like to make your life different? The difference is totally in our mindset, and what we focus on.

ATTORNEY’S ADVICE—–ID Theft, etc. A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company.
1. The next time you order checks have only your initials (instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone takes your checkbook, they will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will know how you sign your checks.
2. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put “PHOTO ID REQUIRED.”
3. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the “For” line. Instead, just put the last four numbers (or none at all). Your statement has it enclosed. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check-processing channels will not have access to it.
4. You can put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box, use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks.
5. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. Also carry a photocopy of your passport when traveling either here or abroad. We have all heard horror stories about fraud that is committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.
6. When you check out of a hotel that uses cards for keys (and they all seem to do that now), do not turn the “keys” in. Take them with you and destroy them. Those little cards have on them all of them information you gave the hotel, including address and credit card numbers and expiration dates. Someone with a card reader, or employee of the hotel, can access all that information with no problem whatsoever.
Unfortunately, as an attorney, I have first hand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieves ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer and received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information online. Here is some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:
1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. The key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.
2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one). However, here is what is perhaps most important of all (I never even thought to do this.)
3. Call the three national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and Social Security number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit. By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves’ purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone turned it in). It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.

As I am writing this article, I am traveling to Paramount Canada’s Wonderland Amusement park.. We decided at 8am this morning to go, and by 9:30 we jumped into the family mini van, and headed out on the 2 hour drive.
A year ago, we wouldn’t have had such freedom to be so spontaneous. Not by a long shot! My work as an RN would have had me scheduled into a slot of either 3 twelve hour night, or day shifts over the Labour Day Weekend. Not that there is anything wrong with the nursing profession. Thank God for nurses! However, for me, after 23 years of shift work, long hours and on call, it is nice to be free of that!

What’s my secret to such freedom?

For 10 years I tried to balance family life, part time RN work and attempts at building networking enterprises. Never once able to let on career go to build the other career. Job security means a lot when there are kids to feed! Yet the potentials that come from networking are huge when you have the right strategies to put in place to succeed. Sometimes job security is more of a hindrance as it allows one to get stuck in a rut. On the other hand, 10 years ago, I didn’t have the marketing savvy I now have. Nor did I have the success tools to make it happen. I now devote my time to personally assisting people to work from home in their own enterprises, with a successful marketing system.
Giving up my job has made me more creative and self reliant. I have found the inner strength to put forth a No Holds Barred effort to reach my full potential, and achieve inner peace.

You have to decide that you’re no longer going to “settle for” any amount of mediocrity in your life! You can have any amount of success you desire, if you’ll believe it to be true.

Napoleon Hill, in writing Think and Grow Rich, says that “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve!” I say.. “Believe to Achieve”. It is so very true, and necessary for any level of success.

The thing that gives Napoleon Hill’s book credibility is his research. He studied a number of successful people, and the one common cord running through them was that they were dreamers. They were just burning up inside with a dream they had cherished for years.

It’s impossible to do anything great without a big dream. If you don’t have a big dream, you’re dead! Not physically, of course, but your opportunity to “be somebody” is dead.

But by the same token, anyone (even you!) can have a big dream. I am sure you do. We all do!

Anyone (even you!) who is a dreamer can still win.

Anyone (yes, you too!) can begin to change in the next 30 days, beginning with the power of a dream.

Stop thinking about how hopeless your situation is right now! Start thinking about the power of dreams and go make a wish!

This may not be an overnight process for you. In fact your capacity to think big and have big dreams will grow as you grow. Zig Ziglar says it best – “Dream as far as you can see, and when you get there, you can see farther!”

ACTION ITEM

1. Write down your dreams!

Pull out a blank sheet of paper right now and spend a minimum of 20 minutes writing down your dreams. Figure out what the most you can imagine to be possible and put it on paper. Don’t limit yourself and just keep writing down all the things you want.

This step is critical if you want to win! What are the things that work you into a white heat of passion? Is it:

Providing for your parents?
Helping others with medical debts?
Supporting charities?
Sending your kids to college?
Owning your dream car (or cars)?
Paying CASH for your dream home (or homes)?
Get specific and put as many items down as you can think of. Keep this list where you can see it every day. Anytime you feel down or feel like maybe not calling your prospects back, look at this list and imagine what it’s going to be like when you have them all!

TAKE ACTION ITEM

2. Visualize your dreams!

Now let’s help you crystallize those dreams and have you experience what it’s like to have them. Look at the dreams on your list, close your eyes and picture yourself having them. Create a picture in your mind of already being in possession of what you desire!

If it’s your dream home – picture yourself waking through the home seeing the furniture, the doors, the rooms, the backyard. If you have a pool in the back feel yourself jumping in on a hot afternoon while everyone else is at work. Maybe picture what it would be like to wake up to the smell of breakfast being made by your private cook!

Turn your dreams into a reality in your head. Start training your subconscious mind to believe that you’re already in ownership of what you desire. If you remember the key to self-motivation from yesterday, you’ll see the importance of doing this exercise. Remember, the mind only knows what you tell it. Tell it you are who you want to be and your mind will start to make that connection.

If you think this is silly, do it anyway! If you keep doing what you’re doing now, you’re going to keep getting what you’ve always gotten. These are exercises that the top money earners in the industry agree is a must! You can believe that to be true and do it, or you can do like the 90% of people who never become successful and lie to yourself saying you’ll get to it later. You have the knowledge you need to win, but you MUST apply these principles if you want to make it! Don’t get left behind, be a leader and let’s make it happen for you!

Begin by thinking of your home as a toxic waste dump. The average home today contains 62 toxic chemicals - more than a chemistry lab at the turn of the century.

More than 72,000 synthetic chemicals have been produced since WW II.

Less than 2% of synthetic chemicals have been tested for toxicity, mutagenic, carcinogenic, or birth defects.

The majority of chemicals have never been tested for long-term effects.

An EPA survey concluded that indoor air was 3 to 70 times more polluted than outdoor air.

Another EPA study stated that the toxic chemicals in household cleaners are 3 times more likely to cause cancer than outdoor air.

CMHC reports that houses today are so energy efficient that "outgassing" of chemicals has no where to go, so it builds up inside the home.

We spend 90% of our time indoor, and 65% of our time at home. Moms, infants and the elderly spend 90% of their time in the home.

National Cancer Association released results of a 15 year study concluding that women who work in the home are at a 54% higher risk of developing cancer than women who work outside the home.

Cancer rates have almost doubled since 1960.

Cancer is the Number ONE cause of death for children.

There has been a 26% increase in breast cancer since 1982. Breast cancer is the Number ONE killer of women between the ages of 35 and 54. Primary suspects are laundry detergents, household cleaners and pesticides.

There has been a call from the U.S./ Canadian Commission to ban bleach in North America. Bleach is being linked to the rising rates of breast cancer in women, reproductive problems in men and learning and behavioral problems in children.

Chemicals get into our body through inhalation, ingestion and absorption.

We breathe 10 to 20 thousand liters of air per day.

There are more than 3 million poisonings every year. Household cleaners are the Number ONE cause of poisoning of children.

Since 1980, asthma has increased by 600%. The Canadian Lung Association and Asthma Society of Canada identify common household cleaners and cosmetics as triggers.

ADD/ADHD are epidemic in schools today. Behavioral problems have long been linked to exposure to toxic chemicals and molds. Use of Ritalin has skyrocketed since 1990.

Chemical and environmental sensitivities are known to cause all types of headaches.

Labeling laws do not protect the consumer - they protect big business.

The New York Poison Control Center reports that 85% of product warning labels were either inadequate or incorrect for identifying a poison, and for first aid instructions.

Formaldehyde, phenol, benzene, toluene, xylene are found in common household cleaners, cosmetics, beverages, fabrics and cigarette smoke. These chemicals are cancer causing and toxic to the immune system.

Chemicals are attracted to, and stored in fatty tissue. The brain is a prime target for these destructive organics because of its high fat content and very rich blood supply.

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has found more than 2500 chemicals in cosmetics that are toxic, cause tumors, reproductive complications, biological mutations and skin and eye irritations.

Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, circulatory disorders, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, depression, and hormonal problems are diseases commonly related to chemical exposure.

Pesticides only have to include active ingredients on the labels, even though the inert (inactive) ingredients may account for 99%, many of which are toxic and poisons.

Our homes should have a complete change of air 3 or 4 time a day. New homes are built so air tight that it is impossible to get a complete change of air. We should leave our windows open on each side of our house for better cross ventilation. In Alberta last year accidental poisoning statistics were as follows: Between the ages of:

0 - 4 years 11,515 poisonings
5 - 10 years 1,524
11 -19 years 1, 019
20 and over 7,799

Top three culprits - Household cleaners, bleach and medications. In the USA the #1 cause of accidental poisoning is Dawn Dishwashing detergent WHY? Because it is the #1 seller.

Tide contains Lye and is the #1 polluter and it is also the #1 seller. Deep Woods Off has an ingredient called DEET. DEET causes seizures in children and adults.

Inert (or inactive) ingredients in products are protected by trade secrets and very dangerous.

In the work place Material Safety Data Sheets must accompany any product used. The work place and the outdoors are considered legal environments while the air in homes is not.

The ideal rate of humidity is between 35% and 45%. Anything higher causes mold.

When we use humidifiers or dehumidifiers with standing water we are encouraging mold growth with the standing water.

The ideal temperature in the home is between 68 degrees and 72 degrees, anything higher makes chemicals more active.

When we shower, the hot water combined with the chlorine in the water, can cause major headaches.

Using aerosols causes dizziness.

Steam from our dryer vents is extremely toxic, because of the chemicals from dryer sheets and residue from laundry soap and bleach.

Chemicals used to dry clean clothing are very dangerous and can cause cancer. When you bring dry cleaning home, you should hang it outside for at least 3 days.

Dry-cleaning chemicals are the same cancer causing chemicals that are found in mothballs.

There are 4700 chemicals in tobacco smoke.

Chemicals from carpets and plastic have been found to cause kidney and liver damage.

Some symptoms caused by formaldehyde are:

Some symptoms caused by phenols, which are absorbed by lungs, and skin are: (besides being possibly fatal) Caustic burns, kidney and liver damage and hyperactivity "Lysol" is even more dangerous than we thought.

Lysol contains phenols and dioxin (Agent Orange). Fungicides used on fruit trees in the Okanagan, BC and in south-western Ontario have been found to cause babies in both areas being born with no eyes or very tiny eyes.

When using Chlorine, antiseptics or bleach in industrial areas you are required to wear impervious protective clothing, hard hats, boots, gloves, apron or coveralls, chemical goggles or fullface shield and use in well ventilated areas.

When using Easy Off make sure all your skin is covered, wear protective clothing, do not breath in and don't get on your enamel, (if this product will hurt the enamel on your stove, can you imagine what it will do to us.)

Air fresheners desensitize the nerves in your nose so you cannot smell.

1970 - NTA's were banned

1980 - Lobbying by Proctor & Gamble brought back the use of NTA's in our products. NTA's mean more suds - more suds mean less clean - more toxic danger!

Studies on the suds in toothpaste found the suds to be laundry soap.

Our immune system is very powerful, like a janitorial system Giving our bodies good nutrition means our body can repair itself and be able to handle what we face in the world.

Household chemicals cause all kinds of symptoms - from cardiovascular problems, panic attacks, anxiety attacks to bedwetting.

Eliminating the cause of the environmental illness is more effective and much less expensive than treating the symptom.

How I Walked Away From A $600 A Day Job To Work Online

Walking away from a $600 a day job was probably the scariest and, yet, best thing I could ever do!

You are probably going, “Yeah, right! I wish I had the $600 a day job.” A couple of years ago, I would most definitely agree with you, but after reaching that level of income, and understanding the workload issues, and travel involved it began to affect my health and my family. That’s right, the heart core of my life suffered! When what matters most begins to suffer from the efforts you are doing to supposedly make life better, then that is when decisions need to be made. At least I woke up and saw the writing on the wall.

I am not alone! Today, millions of people are sick and tired of being sick and tired, and are walking away from the corporate world in greater masses. The saying is so true that “Home is where the heart is”.

As a loving mom to three kids, I knew this to be true from the moment my, now 18 year old, was placed in my arms at his birth! During the intervening time I had done everything possible to try to find balance between work and family. As a RN I worked part time, or job shared, or worked straight nights. Finally I gave up a secure nursing job, as it required me to work long 12 hour shifts. It just didn’t work well with my family. Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to get a consulting position which was what I thought would be “IT”, but found that although I worked mostly days, and no longer had to work nights, or weekends, found that the away time from my family was just as difficult. The option, was working from home. The vehicle, is online marketing.

So, you are probably asking, “What did you find online to make you leave the security of a well paying job”?

Well, that too is a story, as for several years I tried many home based businesses, both online and offline with dismal results. The products were good, the business plans, and commissions were truly genuinely great, but what was lacking was a comprehensive program of lead generating, and marketing education that wouldn’t waste my money and time. Believe me, I was truly part of the 95% of work at home mom’s and dad’s that make up the abysmal stats that give networking a bad name, but I also knew that there was a 5% group that earn substantial income, and knew a system that works. I also knew that if I hung in there, I too, would find it! Guess what… “I finally did”. The best part is that I am willing to share that secret with you.

My new mission in life is to help as many people become successful, and reach their core dreams, and goals. To obtain true fulfillment and prosperity, as it was truly meant to be. If you have read this far, then I will not disappoint you. If you truly want the success that I am achieving, then follow someone who has what you want. Learn from someone who has been there and done that, and doesn’t want anyone else to travel the road of hard knocks. Live the life you truly desire. Work from home. Be there when your kids get up in the morning, and when they go to sleep at night. Be there for them. Never miss a school event again, and be there when they experience their first heartbreak, or when they need that hug, or simply to hear them say, “I love you, mom”.
